How to engage your community

Creating your own GREEN RIBBON AWARD and awarding it to a school teacher, department within the school, business within the community or to an extreme individual environmentalist.... and then posting their picture in the local newspaper, explaining why that award was given away to.... This way the awarded person will be recognized by the entire community and others will be encouraged to take a positive action as well, so they can be awarded next. I am auleen, year 13,Te Puke High School Student and my enviro committee did just that and its working extremely well. But our award is mostly aimed at the school staff, to get them into sustainable habit so, they can set an positive example for the students within the school and also gain positive recognisition within the community. Have you tried the Green Ribbon Award?
