Description
A property in Greville Harbour has recently been acquired by the Department of Conservation. There is a magnificent beach, a lake, several bays and a large area of mature forest. Activities can involve removing fencing, weed control, recreational development, tree planting, beach clean-up and other tasks in converting a former farming property into a reserve.
Accommodation: In the former farm homestead which has power and telephone.
Food: Will be provided.
Pickup: Meet at 9am at the DOC Area Office at 14 Auckland Street, Picton. People can be picked up from the DOC Field Centre, Havelock, providing they have no special dietary requirements as the team picked up in Picton will do the grocery shopping for the trip, before departing for Moawhitu.
Bookings: Bookings will be taken at the Sounds Area Office and preference will be given to first time attendees. Names are being taken of interested people although no dates have been set yet.
There are two trips running in 2010. 14th to 18th June and again 19th to 23rd July 2010
Contribution: Towards food , travel and accomodation - $150.
