Be part of the reforestation of this unique island in the Hauraki Gulf (between Kawau Island and Whangaparaoa). The Motuora Restoration Society has taken on the project on this DOC administered recreation reserve. Planting native bush to create habitat for endangered species. Waipoua Forest Trust, Millennium Kauri Forest Project (Northland)

We are restoring kauri forest and creating new habitat for the North Island brown kiwi. If you are keen and committed to conservation you are welcome to join us. Volunteers are needed this summer for mostly short-term work (2-3 weeks) in the following areas: plant propagation/nursery work, extending a greenhouse structure, building an educational facility, making educational displays, weed and pest control.

Waitemata Harbour Clean Up Trust (Auckland)

The crew on the Phil Warren scoops up a wide variety of rubbish from the Waitemata Harbour including plastic wrap and tyres. Kayaks or a flat-bottomed punt are used to clean along the shoreline and beaches as well as in estuaries and mangrove areas.
